Welcome to the Akasha Yoga Academy Koh Phangan, Thailand & Ubud Bali – Namaste!
At Akasha Yoga Academy, we seek to share the practices of the yoga tradition via inspired teaching in a very original way. We try to capture the very essence of the ancient wisdom in yoga and at the same time translate it into modern languages and applicable tools. Our hallmarks are integrity and enthusiasm.
Our teachings are based on a pragmatic approach coupled with an extensive research and sincere practice. We also provide a clear integration of traditional wisdom combined with scientific knowledge with the presence of highly qualified teachers who are genuinely dedicated and devoted to the fundamentals of yoga and passing this dedication unto others.
We offer a wide range of certified yoga teacher training courses ranging from yoga intensives pranayama workshops to meditation retreats and life coaching sessions. Our approach to yoga can be viewed as a holistic science that integrates physical practice into a wider understanding which encompasses asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, anatomy, psychology, philosophy and meditation.
The benefits of yoga cannot be over emphasized, it opens the way to good health, contentment and inner growth. With our courses you have an invitation to learn and practice yoga in the proper manner, thereby discovering the relationship between body, mind, spirit and soul.

The Akasha Yoga Academy is a certified and registered member of the international Yoga Alliance. Our Teacher Training course curriculum is endorsed by Yoga Alliance, they also provide accreditation for our primary instructors as Experienced Registered Yoga Teachers (E-RYT-200 & 500).
To better appreciate what we stand for, I would break down the meaning of Akasha Yoga Academy. Akasha means space, and Yoga refers to the spiritual union while an Academy is a place for the transmission of wisdom.
Introduction to yogic purification, diet and Ayurveda. Warming exercises, sun salutations, breathe awareness, spiritual heart meditation, 28 essential postures, yogic relaxations, pranayama and bandha practice.
Some of the theoretical topics would touch on, Anatomy of Yoga, states of consciousness, scripture study(Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali), Subtle energetic structures (seven chakras, nadis, and the five bodies), Yama and Niyama (which means the modern re-interpretation of the ethics & virtues of Yoga), the classical Paths of Yoga.
We have three major methodologies, and they include;
1. Holding space: Body language, rhetoric, voice training, presentation skills.
2. The art of touch: Introduction to Thai Yoga Massage, correction and adjustment training.
3. Guided teaching experience: We provide five practical sessions where you get feedbacks from your peers and also a systematic evaluation by experienced supervisors.
The founders of the Akasha Yoga Academy, Burkhard Langemann and Kirsten Reiss are the main instructors responsible for teaching most courses in the academy. Due to the presence of our primary instructors in addition to a small student size it enables us to offer personalized guidance and individual support to meet your peculiar need.
Our enthusiastic teachers coupled with the intellectual approach and inspiring spiritual surroundings have enabled us to create visible transformations that makes our Yoga Teacher Training Course an extremely different life-changing experience.
